Spiritual Encouragment

As I have been watching people in our country during this Coronavirus infestation, I have seen fear, uncertainty, anxiety, anger and many other emotions. The Lord reminded me today that the worst virus of all is sin and its consequences. People desperately need a Savior. As God’s people we have the opportunity to witness and pray for those around us and for people all over the world.

Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” John 10:10   As we see what our enemy the devil is doing during this pandemic we need to realize the spiritual warfare that is taking place. Jerome Zeiler, a Catholic priest wrote the following… (Satan says) “I will cause anxiety, fear and panic. I will shut down business, schools, places of worship, and sports events. I will cause economic turmoil.” (Jesus says) “I will bring together neighbors, restore the family unit, I will bring dinner back to the kitchen table. I will help people slow down their lives and appreciate what really matters. I will teach my children to rely on me and not the world. I will teach my children to trust me and not their money and material resources.”

God is working to revive His people and restore their first love. He is leading us to repentance. He is teaching us to pray without ceasing and to trust Him for every need we have. He is refining our faith and teaching us to love our neighbor as ourselves. He is reaching out to those who are in darkness and inviting them to come into His light and His kingdom. God said in Isaiah 50 “…let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on their God.”

Whatever you are facing you can say with Isaiah, “Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.” Isaiah 50:7 God will never forsake you or abandon you. He is with us and watching over us. Please remember to pray for law enforcement officers around this country. Pray for our government leaders. Pray with your spouse family and friends. Pray that God will defeat the plans of the enemy and this pandemic. Pray Psalm 91 over your life, family, and God’s people.

If you need prayer, let us know and our staff will be happy to pray for you. God bless you.
